    Warranty v. Maintenace in Assett Management

    My organization is preparing to implement the cSupport software.  I am looking at the Asset Management portion of the product and I am not clear on the difference between the Warranty Tracking and the Maintenance Tracking features.  These seem like the same thing to me.  Could someone please explain the distinction?

     Hi JT,

    Warranty and maintenance tracking are essentially the same as far as how they work goes, but they are used to track different types of contracts.  Many companies purchase maintenance contracts that cover preventative maintenance of assets or software upgrades outside of the warranty.  These contracts often have different expiration dates than the warranty so c.Support allows them to be tracked separately.  If maintenance contracts don't apply they can be disabled through configuration.
