    SNMP Asset Scanning

While IP scanning works well for our PC and server inventories, it's not doing much for our printers, routers, switches, etc.  These assets had to be created manually which also means they have to be updated manually, creating some additional administrative overhead for our department.

Similar to WMI scanning, SNMP scanning has the ability to locate networked assets and capture their information to a database.

Does GWI have any plans to incorporate SNMP scanning into the Asset Management feature?  If so, that would reduce the amount of manual entry and data duplication we have to endure...

    Re: SNMP Asset Scanning

We have discussed using SNMP for scanning additional network resources, but we don't have any active development for this at this time.  Thank you for letting us know about your interest in this as the more customers that request a particular feature the more likely it is to get added.
